The Lab is proudly owned and run by local musician Stephen Wilson Jnr, a cornerstone of the Manchester music scene whose creative fingerprints span decades. Known for his work with bands like Smile Like Fools, Wilson and The Cornelius Crane, SWJ Group, Ed Banger And The Nosebleeds, and his current project Avid Fan, Stephen brings a deep-rooted passion for sound and community to every corner of the studio. His experience as a performer, songwriter, and producer shapes The Lab’s ethos — a space built by musicians, for musicians, where authenticity and artistry come first
